MAY/MIGHT
- 在绝大多数情况下,may与might可通用
- use "may have" or "might have" for the past.
- could has similar meaning to may and might.
- couldn't is different from may and might.
eg: She was too far away, so she couldn't have seen you. - use only "might" (not may) when the situation is not real:
If I knew them better, I might invite them to dinner. - may as well do sth. = might as well do sth. which means should do something because there is nothing better to do and there is no reason not to do it.
eg: What shall we do? shall we Walk?
We might as well. It's a nice day and I don't want to wait here for an hour.
